Doljanchi is a Korean tradition that celebrates the 1st birthday of a baby which helps them pick their future career. The baby that is choosing their future career, wears a hanbok which is traditional Korean dress and a traditional Korean hat. The way that the baby is able to choose their career, is that there is a display of different things in front of them that represent different kinds of careers. For an example, a headphone can represent music, a gaming console can represent gamer, and etc. The first item the baby touches will be his or her career. Not to be misunderstood as parents forcing their children to choose a certain career, this is just a tradition that Koreans celebrate.
