New Year, New Expectations
PARKS JUNIOR HIGH October 31 The Parks Speech Team has competed in nationals, won multiple awards, and has a golden reputation throughout the district. Now with a new year, new participants, and coaches, the Warm Up Tournament introduced a new batch of competition.
The semi-final results had been posted on the SAUSD Tournament Website on October 28 at 9:25 PM. The update of forty-six speech team members attended the live zoom tournament on the following Saturday. This tournament, as well as all the others in the future, is split into three patterns consisting of A, B, and C. Pattern A, focuses on the debate. They finished their final rounds on October 28 and posted their results on October 30 at 6:00 PM during a live zoom announcement. On the other hand, students on patterns B and C have been supplied with a Flipgrid link to perform asynchronously before being invited to a live round on October 30 at 8:00 AM for Pattern B and 10:00 AM for Pattern C.
With the final rounds being held on October 30 at 3:00 PM for both patterns B and C, twenty-six of the sixty-nine attendees advanced out of all categories and managed to bring home the sweepstakes prize for large schools. The speech team currently plans on celebrating their victory with a pizza party on November 4 and plan to bring food after school between 3:00-4:00 PM.
