Meet Me at Midnight

Meet+Me+at+Midnight

“Midnights”, Taylor Swift’s new jaw-dropping album that does not disappoint, was released on Oct. 21, 2022. Fans stayed up until 12:00 a.m. EST anticipating the drop of her 10th album. The title was announced soon after receiving her award at the 2022 VMA’s. Three hours later, she put out the 3 a.m. album edition.

Swift describes her album as, “…a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face.” “Midnights” consists of 13 songs, with the deluxe version adding 7 more.  One fun fact about Taylor Swift is that she claims her “lucky number” is 13 – this (probably not so coincidentally) happens to be the album’s song count. The albums’ top 5 hits are: “Anti-Hero”, “Maroon”, “Mastermind”, “Lavender Haze”, and “Sweet Nothing”.

To promote her album, she used creative strategies that helped capture the audience’s attention while getting them excited for the new songs to come. When pieced together, her vinyl album covers create an analog clock. Taylor Swift keeps fans intrigued by using social media platforms prior to the album release. Swift informs Instagram that she wrote “Midnights” based on nights she stayed up: “Self-loathing,” “fantasizing about revenge,” “wondering what might have been,” “falling in love” and “falling apart.” Taylor Swift has released two new music videos, and many more are anticipated. Everyone, not just the Swifties, is delighted with this album. Seventh grader Jordan Raddatz’s opinion on the new album is, “11/10! Broke the meters!” “Midnights” is a must-hear and will definitely be added to the continuously growing list of classics produced by Taylor Swift.
