The Walking Dead is a show that takes place in a zombie apocalypse where the current main characters, Rick, Carl, Michonne, Maggie, Negan, the Kingdom, the Saviors, the people from the hilltop, and the Scavengers have to survive. The AMC television series has lasted for 7 seasons, and last Sunday was the season seven  finale, and to describe the episode, it was shockingly amazing!

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD!

The episode started in a flashback for one of the characters,  Sasha. Then, it shifted to Rick and his group,  getting ready to fight the Saviors. They had allied themselves along with some people from the Hilltop and the Scavengers for the fight. In the meanwhile, Negan and some of his Saviors go to Alexandria where Rick and his group are.

Eugene (who Negan captured a few episodes earlier) uses a loudspeaker to speak to Rick. His words were not important until he mentioned that they have Sasha. Rick’s attention was drawn to them, and he demands that they bring out Sasha, who is in a coffin. Negan arrogantly walked over to the coffin, he tapped it with his bat, Lucille, a few times and then opened it. What he wasn’t expecting, was for Sasha to come out dead as a walker. How did she die? Well, a few episodes ago, Sasha had asked Eugene for a weapon, so he gave her poisonous pills that he made. Then, when she was put in the coffin, she took those pills. If Negan had her on his side, she was already good as dead.

When Sasha walked out the coffin, she jumped Negan. However, he was saved by one of his people. He had grabbed Sasha off of Negan and he was killed instead. That’s when Rick takes a step forward to his ultimate plan to take down Negan. In the beginning of the episode, they had set up bombs in an empty truck. They had expected them to go off, but little did they know the Scavengers disarmed them. Suddenly, the Scavengers turned their guns and pointed them to Rick’s team, their former allies. Rick was shocked, but he soon learned that Negan had made a better deal with them.

Since Negan knew about Rick’s plan, he demanded that they turn themselves in. It left Rick to think about a plan, but Carl quickly turned around and shot the four men that were watching him. That’s when gunfire breaks lose.

Eventually, Rick’s team was overpowered. Rick even got shot by Jadis, the leader of the Scavengers. He was dragged down to the field where Carl was. Negan was angered, and he said that he will kill Carl and then cut off Rick’s hands. Rick soon leans closer to Negan and threatens him saying, “I will kill you. Not today, not tomorrow, but I will kill you.” Negan laughs and takes it as a joke. He then gets up and goes behind Carl to kill him. Thankfully, Carl was saved by King Ezekiel’s tiger, Shiva.

The final fight of the episode begins to take place. The people from the hilltop arrive, and help Rick’s group fight off the Saviors and the Scavengers. They luckily win, since the others fled knowing they had no chance.

The last scene focuses on Negan, back at his place. He had questioned Eugene about how Sasha could have died. He only replies with, “I don’t know, but probably because of air loss. I did deal that coffin real tight.” (Which obviously was a lie.) Negan then walks out to a balcony that raises above all his people. He calls out to them saying, “I guess we’re going to war!”

Personally, I absolutely loved the episode. It was very exciting, compared to a few of the other episodes. It had a lot of action and the season had ended well. Luckily, it wasn’t  a cliffhanger like the previous season finale.
