Halloween is creeping around the corner, and one aspect of this holiday that cannot be missed is candy! America is clearly in love with sugar, and when it comes to candy in this crazed country, the business certainty is a cash cow. Totaling to over seven billion dollars a year, Americans have spent so much cash on this delectable treat that curiosity had to creep in! To help people get a true grasp on what Americans love so much, we have compiled a list of top five chocolate candies in the United States!

With unit sales of 202.5 million and a generated revenue of 201.8 million dollars (each per year), in fifth place we have the Kit Kat bar! At least, that is what we know it by now. The original name for this wafer and chocolate mix was Chocolate Crisp. I guess they had to take a break from that name!

Next up is the chocolate bar we all know and love, ever since we were just little kids. Were you thinking of a Hershey’s chocolate bar? Then you are correct! The delicious chocolate brings in 264.6 million for unit sales and has a generated revenue of 249 million dollars per year! This chocolately treat is certainly what people love because it has been treasured ever since the 1900s.

In the third place, reaching closer to the top, are Snickers! The delicious peanut, nougat, and caramel bars are certainly what the USA loves because its unit sales are 405.3 million per year! This candy bar, which had been named after one of the original owners’ horses, also has a generated revenue of 249 million dollars.

Right before the first place, this second place winner are the Reese’s! These peanut butter cups have been the one that all of the people clamouring for at the stores to buy some! These Reese’s cups, which has a generated revenue of 398.9 million dollars and the unit sales of 366.2 million, had been invented by Harry Burnett Reese. Don’t forget to go shopping for these delectable sweets if you’re planning to pass out treats to trick-or-treaters! It’s a huge guarantee they will love the surprise! Especially with the chocolate candies mostly disappearing and the non-chocolate candies popping up for Halloween.

Topping all the others with the generated revenue of $406.7 million and the unit sales of 417.7 million, M&Ms win the first place. M&Ms now have multiple flavors and variations, whether it be Mini, Peanut, Caramel, Peanut Butter, Crispy, Mint Chocolate, Pretzel, Dark Chocolate, Peppermint, Mega, Coffee Nut, White Chocolate, Pumpkin Spice, Pecan Pie, White Chocolate Candy Corn, Birthday Cake, Red Velvet, Gingerbread, Coconut, or just Original (believe it or not, there are over twenty more flavors on top of these ones that are listed!).

All of these candies are great chocolate candies for Halloween! We guarantee you that they will become your favorite candies if you haven’t tried them already. Candy always helps us to feel more like getting into the spooky and wonderful Halloween season!

Wow I didn’t know there were that many M&M flavors, that’s crazy.

Some M&M flavors have only been made available for a limited time, such as white cheesecake for Easter, pumpkin spice or white candy corn for Halloween, and White Strawberry Shortcake for Valentine’s Day.
