On Wednesday, May 9, Parks hosted the inter-district track meet. Brea, Beechwood, Fisler, Ladera Vista, Nicolas, and Parks all competed for the championship trophy. Although Parks has never lost a Track and Field meet, each school brought their best athletes and came with hopes of winning. All Parks student athletes have been through tough tryouts and practices to get ready to compete in the track meet. Here is a list of the winning Parks athletes:

Sophia S. won 1st place in high jump (7th grader)

Xavier H. won 1st place in high jump (7th grader)

Kiana R. won 1st place in high jump: 4 feet 8 inches (8th grader)

Kiana R. won 1st place in long jump (8th grader)

Kayla S. won 2nd place in long jump (8th grader)

Jordan P. won 1st in high jump: 5 feet 4 inches (8th grader)

Danielle C. won 1st in the high jump (7th grader)

Nolan C. won 1st in the long jump: 16 feet 11 inches (8th grader)

8th grade boys won the relay

Nolan C. ran the 220 in 24 sec. 1st place (8th grader)

Lucy L. ran the 440 in 1:11 sec. 1st place (8th grader)

Isaiah M. ran the 440 in 1:06 sec.1st place (7th grader)

Jeweliet F. ran the mile in 6:22 sec.1st place (7th grader)

Nolan C. ran the 100 in 11.3 sec.1st place (8th grader)

Duke W. ran the 100 in 12.0 sec.1st place (7th grader)

Lauren A. and Kayla S. ran the 880 1st and 2nd place (8th graders)

Joseph Y. ran the 880 in 2:24 sec. 1st place (7th grader)

Parks student athletes performed their best during the competition and made our school proud. The Parks Track and Field team again brought the championship back and kept our undefeated streak. The final track scores were: Fisler with 103, Beechwood with 128.5, Nicolas 139, Brea with 198, and Parks with 334.5 Congratulations to every student who competed! Go Panthers!
