Earthquakes are a problem here in California. They are extremely dangerous and people can get injured badly and possibly die. In the last week, there have been at least 10 earthquakes in California. When an earthquake occurs, there are a few procedures you must go through to be safe at home and at school.

At home, you should run out as soon as you can, so that nothing falls on your head and you do not get trapped.
If you cannot run out, hide under your bed or table. Try to balance yourself, hold on to something and wait for the shaking to stop.
If you are out of the house, you need to be aware of the light posts and trees on the road, in case they fall. Most importantly, stay balanced and hold your ground.
If you are driving, you should stop, stay in your car and hold on to something.
If you are injured/cannot move and are trapped in your house, you should scream for help and someone will hear you. They will call the police and will get you out of there. You should do the same thing if you are trapped outside the house.
Always worry about your safety first.

At school, there are basic procedures that you have to follow.
You should listen to the teacher and do whatever she tells you to do.
If you are not around a teacher, there are certain few procedures that you should do. Without screaming and running, you should go out and go to the lower field to find your homeroom teacher. Then, stand in the line.
The teachers will have the room number written on a card and will hold it up so it will be easy to find them. The other way you can find them is by their last names. The teachers are in alphabetical order.

Always be aware and safe, panthers.
