Two agitating rounds have recently come to a close. Both the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Tampa Bay Lightning got swept in the first round, which was to many very frustrating. Coming in as the first and second seeds, this was astonishing to whiteness both teams getting swept 4-0 in the first round. Especially versus the two lower-end teams in the competition this year, we as hockey fans have no idea on why this tended to happen. We can assure you one thing though: The Penguins and Lightning will come back even stronger next year.

The Penguins average an astonishing three and a third goals per game. They also finished third in the Metropolitan Division, so for them to get swept was an incredibly frustrating upset. The Penguins, who have had a very great history revolving around the Stanley Cup, couldn’t believe how poorly they played. The coach could possibly get fired, and the General Manager may resign. The Lightning ended first in the Eastern Conference, so for them to lose in the first round is also astonishing. They were the last team to be expected to get swept, causing fans of this incredible team much turmoil over the matter. As we said with the Penguins, they have an overall stacked team, stably kept in place by Ryan McDonagh, Nikita Kucherov, Steven Stamkos, and Victor Hedman. In addition, their head coach came out and spoke about the loss. And man, can we tell you, he was certainly not happy.

Hopefully the next two series’ will not end like these. The are pretty close right now, so hopefully they will end well. Anyways, you Panthers will be some of the first to know about any NHL statistics or breaking news. We will see you again when another team has a pathetic loss.
