A Marine heat wave, similar to “The Blob”, another major heat wave in 2014 and 2015, may cause trouble to sea life on the West coast. Scientists are keeping track of the heat wave they say is like the one in 2014 and 2015 that disturbed marine mammal populations from Alaska to California. Scientists say that there will be unusually warm water that has grown to the size of “ The Blob”. The marine heat wave is now the second largest in the Northern Pacific. A system for tracking and measuring heat waves in the Pacific was created to help in these situations. Deeper parts of the ocean are not as warm as the previous heat wave, and warm water could go away rapidly.
