Comics

Comics

Comics can go back to 1827 regarding “The Adventures of Obadiah Oldbuck” written by Rodolphe Topferr. Of course, after almost 200 years, comics have come a long way. Many iconic ones like Marvel comics, DC comics, and Peanut are iconic examples of comics. All of these comics have also gotten some adaptation of some sort. What is an adaptation? An adaptation for comics is when comics get enough recognition, they can get turned into things like movies and cartoons like how Marvel and DC comics were turned into movies and animations and other things like manga, can turn into anime. Although the adaptations don’t exactly always copy everything from these comics, they are a lot of times more popular than the original comics.

Now, are comics still relevant today? Yes and no. The comics prime was a long time ago like somewhere in around the 1900s and since then, its popularity has kind of gone down. You don’t necessarily see people hyping around a new superhero comic anymore. It doesn’t mean that comics are completely forgotten now, it’s just kind of changed. Things like Webtoon allow people to still make and read new comics. Its popularity isn’t as big as how superhero comics were in the 1900s but it’s still pretty big.
