Friday the thirteenth. One of the most superstitious days in the history of the world. There are about 20 Friday the 13ths in a decade, all months beginning with Sunday eventually have a Friday the 13th, most years have them twice a year although there have been years with three Friday the 13ths.

History:

The irrational fear of the number 13 is named “triskaidekaphobia”. In many religions and cultures, 13 is considered a number of horrible luck (I have always wondered why my apartment did not have a 13 floor). Tracing back to the middle ages, it is believed that the origin of the superstition comes from the story of Jesus and the Last Supper in which there were thirteen people with him on the day before his death- which happened on a Friday and the thirteenth was Judas, “The betrayer.”
