As the Major League Baseball season comes to an end, there are some surprises regarding the teams in the playoff race. With about 15 games remaining, the MLB playoff race is just starting. The closest division has to be the NL Central, with the Cardinals at the top just 4 games ahead of the Cubs and the Brewers. The NL wild card race is also heating up as the Washington Nationals are 3.5 games ahead of the Cubs and Brewers who are tied. Also, there are three teams within three games of the Cubs and Brewers. Those teams are the Mets, Phillies, and Diamondbacks. In the AL wild race, there are three teams in contention for two spots. Right now, the Rays and A’s are tied for the two spots, with the Indians 0.5 games behind. The AL division leaders are the Yankees, Twins, and the Astros. In the NL, the leaders are the Braves, Cardinals, and the Dodgers, who are the only team that has clinched the division.
