There are more and more homeless people appearing in California and many other states, especially Arkansas. Some people treat the homeless people unkindly, but many of them did nothing wrong. Some served our country and are veterans, and all of us should be thankful for their help. People often stereotype them about how they wear ragged clothes and assume they are beggars. But unfortunately, these things happen every day.

On the positive side, there are several non-profit organizations helping and feeding homeless people. Some passersby are generous enough to give some spare change to people in need. Don’t assume the worst of them. Instead, think of how grateful they would be if you gave them spare change or a few dollars. According to Yale Global,  about 2 percent of the world is living in poverty. They may have been born that way, with barely any shelter and food, or may have been discriminated against or not hired because of their race. In this world, everyone should treat each other equally, instead of letting our economy have a huge gap between the rich and the poor. Just because we see them as inhumane people doesn’t mean they are kind, creative, and compassionate. So instead of criticising people on the streets, why not give them a tip or some encouragement?
