Caleb Yoo, Contributor
Caleb Yoo was born December 8, 2008 in LA. His birth occurred a month after Barack Obama was elected President, who made history by being the first black person to be elected president. He started swimming at the age of four, even though he was completely and utterly terrified of going into the pool, because he wanted to be able to swim with his friends. He is now a swimmer at FAST, a team that sent many swimmers to the olympics. Caleb’s Maltese dog, Toby, greets him when he gets back from school, his tail wagging behind him, making his whole body shake. One story that Caleb likes to tell is the time that he encountered a four foot long turtle as he was surfing in Hawaii. He was surfing on a wave when a turtle swam up next to him. He likes this because turtles are considered signs of good luck, and longevity. Caleb loves to read books, mostly fantasy genre, and hopes to publish one of his own. In fact, he is in the process of writing some short stories inspired by many of his favorite authors. Caleb’s quote is “we’ll never have today again.” This quote means that the past is something that you can never experience again. Caleb likes this quote because he lives in the present like there is no other chance to live it again.
