Norah Chowdhury was born on August 27th, 2008. After her birth the first thing her older brother, Faiyaz Chowdhury, did was storm out of the room, insisting that their parents only needed one child. As a youth she would peruse her local library in search of adventure-fantasy books, such as “Wings of Fire '' and any type of Rick Rordian series. As an adolescent, she has a deep interest  in social activism (though she is still fond of Rick Rordian) and likes to read up on current events. She also fosters a deep love for psychology that she inherited from her mother, a psychologist working for the Los Angeles department of mental health. When she graduates high school she wants to major either in psychology or creative writing. As for where she will major in these subjects, her dream school is UCLA.


In her free time she can be found reading, watching movies/playing video games with her brother (with whom her relationship is much more improved), or writing poetry/short prose. She loves animals and has a very, very needy Yorkshire terrier, named Bailey, who constantly begs for treats and attention. When she was younger her family owned six to seven parakeets.  She doesn’t have much experience with sports, but both she and her brother have been enrolled in their local swimming team, the La Mirada Armada, and her favorite swim style is breaststroke. Her favorite quote is “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel,'' from Maya Angelou. She likes this quote because it reminds her of the profound effect both kindness and cruelty can have.
