Lebron Breaks The Record
On Feb. 7, 2023, Lebron James passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s career scoring record at Crypto
Arena. Kareem Abdul- Jabbar held this record for nearly four decades before Lebron James took over his record spot.
On this day, the Lakers were up against the Oklahoma City Thunder, and to beat the record James had to score 36 points by the end of the game. The shot that broke the record was a step-back jump shot with 10.9 seconds left in the third quarter, giving James a total of 38,388 points over the course of his career. The entire arena erupted in celebration with James throwing his hands up in the air in elation. This newest record is just one of his many accomplishments. So far, he was won four championship titles, two with the Miami Heat, one with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and another with the Los Angeles Lakers with a whole host of other awards. James is known to be one of the greatest players of all time and now the world will continue to see how many other records will he pass and conquer.
