Abigail Im, Contributor

Abigail Im was born on December 10, 2009, the same year Barack Obama was elected president. She has one older brother who is a sophomore in high school. Her name choice made it to one of her parents’ debates, but they ended up choosing Abigail due to the name having significant meaning in the Bible. One fun fact about the first letter of her name is that she, her mom, her aunt, and her grandmother’s name all begin with the letter A. Abigail’s Korean name, 아름, was chosen by her mom – on a random website her mom found. Abigail has many hobbies, but her absolute favorite one is reading. Abigail doesn’t think she’s too obsessed, but her friends would definitely disagree with her. Her favorite books are: The Selection Series, Red Queen, Defy the Night, The Cheat Sheet, Twilight, and Deepfake. While she’s reading, Abigail loves to listen to music – non-lyrical music. She listens to the same playlist each time she reads, full of dramatic classical music. One strong opinion Abigail has is that it’s always time for Christmas music – no matter the season. Christmas music is made for any time of the year, even if it’s 95 degrees outside. Her favorite subject in school is ELA – always has, always will. It probably has to do with her love for reading, but Abigail loves to write as well. She has a collection of books written by her full of made-up stories from when she was 6. Her current ELA class is where she found a memorable quote. It says, “I have lived a thousand lives and I’ve loved a thousand loves. I’ve walked on distant worlds and seen the end of time. Because I read.”
