On Oct. 20, 2023, the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Golden State Warriors 122-117 at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California. A key standout of the game was Victor Wembanyama. The star rookie went off and scored 19 points and five rebounds in a span of 21 minutes. Standing at 7’4”, the Warriors had trouble getting shots over rookie center Victor Wembanyama. He blocked five shots during that game and added an additional two steals to go along with his stats.
During the first quarter, Klay Thompson scored a three-pointer to put the Warriors up by one point. The Spurs then retaliated and scored a beautiful two-pointer to put them up by one point. By half-time, the score was 72-63 with the San Antonio Spurs leading the Golden State Warriors in points. Over the course of the game, the Spurs kept a good lead over the Warriors which would prove to be extremely beneficial because during the fourth quarter, the Warriors would score some crucial points which put them in a three-point deficit. Eventually, the Warriors would lose the lead and end up losing the game which ended up being the preseason finale.
