Ashley Kang was born on December 11, 2008 in South Korea, from where she moved to Fullerton, California at a very young age. Her first memory she recalls was when she was in Kindergarten and was watching cartoons with her brother while her mom was urging her to hurry up to go to school. When at home or during her free time, Ashley participates in sports, reads books, and doodles on her iPad. The first few sports she was involved in were swimming, which she began at five, golf, and volleyball. While she currently doesn’t have a favorite book, she favors the genres of fantasy, and mystery. One of the many places Ashley likes to visit with her family is Kings Canyon National Park, where she once encountered a bear in the middle of the night. Her favorite quote she relates to is “Mistakes are stepping stones to success.” So whenever she makes a mistake or an error she tries to keep in mind that they remind her to work hard and more efficiently.
