Courtney Standley 2021 Editor in Chief for Panther Park Press

Courtney Standley, Editor in Chief

Second-year Journalism student, Courtney Standley, was born into a world of rock and roll and mass media essentially making up the very fabric of her DNA. This “preppy punk rocker” loves writing, and is a music aficionado (especially when it comes to the Foo Fighters, Radiohead, The Dead, and Ramones.) She has covered bands and concerts in the press for bands like Blink-182,  Foo Fighters, and Queens of the Stone Age, and can’t wait to return to the tour circuit once festivals resume.

Obsessed with traveling, Courtney (a.k.a. Coco) love planning trips that find her surfing in Panama and collecting passport stamps to faraway places. She loves photojournalism, finding the best spots in SoCal for Instagram shots, and is a voracious reader of modern classics like “Catcher In The Rye” and “The Outsiders.” You can also find her most weekends surfing up and down the coast, and competing on the Varsity swim team for FAST.

Being the Editor-In-Chief for Parks Panther Press is a dream come true for Courtney, as she’s always had her eye on being a media commentator and major in communications and broadcast journalism. Since her first visit to Nashville, she had set her sights on attending Vanderbilt University where she plans to study Media Arts with a minor in sociology and poly-sci, and play for the womens’ lacrosse and swim teams. One day her dream is to become a political commentator or executive producer for her own lifestyle programming where she can discuss everything from fashion, to pop culture and politics.
