Taylor Swift Embarks First National Tour in 5 Years!
Singer and songwriter Taylor Swift is going on her first tour in 5 years! On Nov. 1, 2022, Swift announced on “Good Morning America” that her new tour will be known as The Eras Tour.
Over the span of her career, the Nashville artist has written and published a whopping 12 albums (two being re-recordings) with each album having a very distinct “era” or concept. For example, her album “Lover” included cheer-induced songs centered around love with performance aspects such as clothes, makeup, and choreography fitting that theme. Swift then planned to bring this album on tour, expanding on the era with heart-shaped stages and sunset color palettes. However, her sixth headlining tour was canceled in early 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the span of the next three years, she released three new albums – “Folklore,” “Evermore,” and “Midnights” – along with two re-recorded albums – “Fearless” and “Red.” Now that the concerns about COVID-19 have significantly lessened, Swift announced that she will be taking the stage once again. What is special about this one, however, is that Swift is dedicating this tour to all of her “eras” and performing songs from each album. The tour includes a shocking 52 locations across the U.S. and spans almost five months from March 17, 2023 – Aug. 9, 2023! Each show lasts over three hours and includes 44 songs divided into 10 acts (each act being an “era”). So far, Swift’s performances have gained much critical acclaim, especially for her versatility when switching between each album concept. With elaborate visuals, a comprehensive setlist, and fantastic show openers such as Paramore and Haim, it is no doubt that Taylor Swift has pulled out all the stops!
