Parks Panthers Participate in NJHS Induction Ceremony
On May 18, 2023, incoming and former Parks National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) members joined together at a celebratory induction ceremony in the theatron! All members were allowed to bring up to four guests and many brought family and close friends who wanted to show their pride for the members. By 6:00 p.m., the theatron was filled to the brim with guests of all ages dressed in semi-formal attire. After Principal Mundschau welcomed the guests, the event began with the Pledge of Allegiance led by 8th grader Damian Lozano. Then, Ezra Lee and Madelyn Sooter took the microphone to present their speeches; in their speeches, they discussed how they first joined NJHS when they were in 7th grade and how NJHS has helped them be better students. Both additionally commemorated all of the old and incoming members of this prestigious society for being above and beyond students, citizens, and people. Following the speeches, 7th graders joining NJHS lined up to receive their medal and certificate and afterward, the new and returning 8th-grade members did the same. To end the night, a distinguished group of 8th-graders received their honorary golden cord for maintaining a 4.0 GPA for all seven quarters (4 quarters in 7th grade and the first 3 quarters in 8th grade)! The beautiful ceremony concluded with the NJHS Student Pledge, led by Hannah Oh, and tasty cupcakes. A huge thanks to Mrs. Wilmoth and Mrs. Chong, our school’s NJHS advisors, our school administrators, and Ms. Vuong-Dac for helping out at the ceremony!
