Justin Jefferson
There are many great receivers in the NFL, but Justin Jefferson has been a receiver that has stood out in the NFL. Jefferson was born on June 16, 1999, and when he was nine years old, he stepped onto a football field for the very first time.
Growing up, Jefferson wanted to continue his family’s history by going to LSU. Both of his brothers went to LSU and his father played division two basketball for the university, so it only made sense for Jefferson to go there as well. During his time at Destrehan High School, Jefferson got offers from Alabama, Texas A&M, LSU, and Florida, but he ultimately chose LSU to continue the family legacy. Justin Jefferson had a great college season for LSU and in 2020, he put his name into the NFL draft and was a first-round pick for the Minnesota Vikings. Jefferson’s first year as a rookie was phenomenal; he set an NFL rookie record for receiving 1400 yards, kicking off his rise in popularity.
In his young NFL career, Jefferson has already had a number of achievements. He has been a pro bowler and second-team all pro and each of his two first seasons. He also reached 3000 receiving yards faster than any receiver in NFL history reaching the milestone two games sooner than fellow former LSU receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Additionally, the athlete has become somewhat of a pop culture icon, popularizing The Griddy dance which he does to celebrate touchdowns. Overall, Justin Jefferson is one of the greatest receivers to ever play the game and will continue to impress people throughout his career.
