Over the years, Mike Myers has become one of the most notable Canadian voice actors, movie writer, and producer of all time.
Mike Myers was born in Scarborough, Toronto, Canada on May 2, 1963. He started his career when he was just two years old starring in various commercials and in his teenage years made guest appearances on shows including “Kings of Kensington” and “The Littlest Hobo.” In 1985, Myers was accepted into The Second City Canadian touring company, further fueling his passion for performing.
When he got older, he moved to the UK where he became one of the founding members of The Comedy Store Players, but shortly after, he moved back to Toronto, Canada, and continued with Second City. In 1988, Myers moved to Chicago where he nabbed roles on various American shows such as “It’s Only Rock & Roll” and “Saturday Night Live,” where Myers was known for his eccentric characters such as Wayne. Throughout the 90s, Myers starred in various “Austin Powers” films, making him a household name and in 2001, Myers’s film, Shrek, was released, making his fame skyrocket. Due to its massive success, DreamWorks grew the Shrek franchise, making several more films and having the character appear in theme parks such as Universal Studios. Myers continues to work today in various capacities and just recently, announced a brand new Shrek film set to premiere in 2025.
