Stephen Curry has solidified himself as the best shooter to ever touch a basketball and revolutionized the game of basketball forever.

Stephen Wardell Curry was born on March 14, 1988, in Akron Ohio. Curry grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina with his sister, Sydel Curry, and younger brother, Seth Curry. While Sydel played volleyball, following her mom’s footsteps (Soniya Alicia Curry), Seth and Steph both wanted to become NBA players just like their father, Dell Curry. Curry attended Charlotte Christian School throughout his high school career and carried his team to multiple conference titles and playoffs. Then, he decided to play for Davidson College where he received a Bachelor’s degree in sociology and had a successful college basketball career. After receiving much recognition from scouts and coaches, Curry graduated from college and was drafted into the NBA in 2009 as the Golden State Warriors’ seventh overall pick.

Stephen Curry started off his professional career by scoring the most three-pointers as a rookie ever. He quickly grew in fame throughout the years due to his mind-blowing ability to consistently shoot the basketball from such a far distance. Then, in 2015, Stephen Curry led his team to the NBA finals where they won the title. Not only that, but in the same season, Curry won his first MVP (Most Valuable Player) award. This was just the beginning of a new franchise as he and the Warriors made it to the NBA finals in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022. The Golden State Warriors were able to win four more titles thanks to the athlete’s ability to space the floor, pass the ball, lead the team, and score the basketball. Due to his incredible talent on the court, he won the MVP award again in 2016, and in 2022, Curry was the Finals MVP.

Stephen Curry revolutionized the sport of basketball by popularizing the three-point shot and currently holds the three-point record. He changed the way the game is played and developed a new playing style amongst basketball players. Curry is considered to be one of, if not the most influential basketball players of all time due to his innovative shooting ability and the hard work and dedication he displays.
