On Oct. 27, 2023, at midnight EST, Taylor Swift re-released her famous “1989” album. One major change to this re-release is the album is now called “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” as part of Swift’s goal to regain the master rights to her music. “1989” is one of the most popular albums in recent history, which includes famous songs “Shake It Off,” “Style,” “Blank Space,” and “Wildest Dreams”. While re-recording all the songs on the album, she also released five (Taylor’s Version) (From the Vault) songs, which are songs that were written for the original album but were never released. Taylor Swift fans, or Swifties, have been more than ready for this rerecording as this certain album was released during their childhood, and have formed a nostalgic connection with the songs. During its original release, the album was nominated for a staggering 10 Grammys including the coveted Album of the Year. Furthermore, Swift made a whopping 250 million dollars on the album as well as 350 million on the “1989 World Tour.” So far, the artist has rerecorded four of her previous albums: “Fearless,” “Speak Now,” “Red,” and “1989,” and is dropping hints at rerecording “Taylor Swift” and “Reputation.” Swift has done a lot in preparation for this history-making album, so get ready for a whole new era of “1989” Swifties!
